What is Startup Guide?

Startup Guide was founded in 2014, when founder and CEO Sissel Hansen moved from Copenhagen to Berlin to start a business and discovered that it was difficult to find useful information about the process. After being rejected by multiple investors, she bootstrapped and launched Startup Guide Berlin – it sold out in less than 48 hours and is now on its fourth volume. Startup Guide creates guidebooks and online content to help entrepreneurs navigate and connect with different startup scenes across the globe. Its mission is to guide, empower and inspire people to start their own business anywhere. To date, Startup Guide has created books for more than 60 different cities and regions. Since 2019 the company is committed to focusing on ventures that create positive economic, environmental and social value.
